Can the IQS check for asthma?

Asthma is usually related to allergies. To test for allergy related conditions the IQS checks for phenolics which are chemical substances associated with allergic reactions. Phenolics are found in chemicals, airborne pollen, molds, and foods. Studies have shown that if we can identify phenolics and neutralize them we can overcome allergies and relieve the frequency and severity of Asthma symptoms.

How receptive has the health care profession been to this technology?

Many practitioners are familiar with this technology and use it daily in their practice. This trend will likely increase due to the public's demand for integrative and complementary medicine. According to a 1999 report in the Journal of the American Medical Association, professional services in alternative medicine increased 45% and were estimated at $21.2 billion in 1997. Today 6 different courses in complementary medicine are offered at medical schools and colleges. Practitioners find technology like the IQS invaluable for treating today's illnesses, where so many disparate factors play a role. IQS technology allows the practitioner to quickly and simply assess a wide variety of health factors. No other device compares.

How effective is the IQS in understanding chronic fatigue, allergies, and irritable bowel syndrome?

Chronic conditions usually indicate a weakened system, especially in the immune response. People can develop a chronic condition through sources such as viruses, nutrition deficiency, enzyme deficiency, genetic weakness, or chemical toxins. The IQS can determine what is causing the body stress and identify possible corrections. A number of professional and scientific studies have been published showing the effectiveness of this type of technology. In one recent study a health company using an earlier technology similar to the IQS found that 100% of participants reported health improvements and 70% reported reduction in symptoms. There are other studies relating to chronic fatigue syndrome, pesticide exposure, hypertension, and allergies which show similar results. Allergy studies show that computer technology similar to that used by the IQS is highly compatible with food challenge tests and other allergy testing methods.

Can the IQS help find solutions to problems that are misdiagnosed or baffling doctors?

One of the advantages of the IQS is that it deals entirely with cause and effect. It shows which internal systems are weakened and what needs to be done to balance them. We've seen many cases where the IQS was useful in understanding health problems and helping individuals increase the quality of their health.

How is IQS testing similar to acupuncture?

IQS testing is a type of Western acupuncture. The original concept was developed nearly fifty years ago by a German medical doctor, Dr. Reinhold Voll. Now it is possible to take an electronic survey of the energy meridians that were discovered by the Chinese more than 2000 years ago! Through radioactive isotope imaging researchers have verified that acupuncture meridians exist and function as acupuncturists have always taught. Dr. William Tiller, a Doctor in Material Science at Stanford University has also validated these systems and done further research. This is the basis for today's modern procedure.

Can the IQS help manage life-threatening conditions, such as heart disease, cancer, or HIV?

The IQS opens many doors to physicians and helps them find new treatment options. If a cancer has progressed to where the body cannot heal it through nutritional therapies, the treatment of last resort is surgery and chemotherapy. Some practitioners have used technology similar to the IQS with patients during their chemotherapy to keep their systems running at an optimum state and to minimize side effects. Where surgical intervention is needed, the IQS can be used to stimulate and strengthen the body and speed the healing process. In the case of HIV, Dr. Barbara Brewitt of Washington State University has conducted research with HIV and AIDS patients which indicate that tools like the IQS may be effectively used to evaluate treatment options in the beginning stages of the disease.

Can patients with subclinical symptoms benefit from the IQS?

The IQS is excellent for detecting subclinical symptoms. It can be used effectively in preventive medicine or in any health maintenance program. Sport teams and their athletes use the IQS to keep their bodies running at peak efficiency. Many healthcare practitioners consider the IQS a gatekeeper to their practice. As a patient comes in, the IQS assesses areas of stress or weakness in the body and finds the appropriate modalities of treatment which the practitioner can then incorporate into his or her area of specialization to diagnose and treat the patient.

top

How can the IQS help a healthy patient?

The IQS scan starts with an overall health assessment. If there are no problems the practitioner can use the IQS to specifically test for nutrition, vitamins, minerals, amino acids, etc. to see if the body has adequate supplies. The IQS can also detect underlying allergies and sensitivities or test to see if the vertebrae are out of alignment, pinching the nerve flow and altering health. The practitioner can use the IQS to look for pathogens, viruses, bacteria, amoebas, and parasites. The idea behind this technology is that a person's health requires constant attention and care in order to be properly maintained and that a person should not wait until they are sick to start worrying about their health.

top

What happens to a patient during an IQS session?

The patient holds a brass electrode in one hand. The practitioner then touches specific points on the patient’s hands and/or feet with a specialized probe tip in order to measure electrical resistance. The probe will not pierce the skin. The patient cannot feel any current. These measurements give the base readings indicating where the weaknesses or stresses in the body are located.

top

How does the IQS help manage nutrition?

With the IQS a practitioner can fine-tune a nutritional program specifically for the patient's needs. For instance there may be 5 varieties of Vitamin C. Which variety works best with the patient's biochemistry? If the patient is taking several supplements, the IQS can test to see if they're effective.

top

Which remedies does the IQS utilize?

There are thousands of remedies included in the system's software program. They include pharmaceuticals, homeopathics, nutritional supplements, Bach flowers, essential oils, herbs, vitamins and minerals, and many others. The system is designed to complement any type of professional medical application.

top

Does the IQS replace all other testing methods?

No, the IQS cannot do it all. It is a very powerful tool, but it is no substitute for the practitioner's training, knowledge, and experience. The IQS provides very complete and powerful information which can be combined with other types of testing.

top

How long should a patient expect to wait before seeing results?

We see a patient as an individual with a current state of health and vitality that would like to improve and maintain that health and vitality. Your clients should begin to experience improved health from their first visit. They will continue to suffer from assaults on their health from their environment and their own behavior over the rest of their lives. By regularly utilizing IQS health assessment and appropriate remediation and supplementation, they should be able to experience improved and continued good health. The time it takes to make a particular change depends on the person and on the cause. Some changes are immediate others may never change. One predictor can come from the patient himself. You can use the IQS to “ask” a patient to how long it will take to make the necessary modifications in his or her body.

Which medical category does the IQS fall under?

The Interactive Query System (IQS) is part of a new branch of medicine called Functional Medicine. It uses computerized technology that sends a very small electrical current through energetic pathways in the body called meridians. These meridians pass through specific organs and tissues. They regulate the flow of the current that passes through them. By measuring this current, an IQS practitioner can get a functional picture of those tissues and learn whether they are balanced, healthy, stressed, inflamed, weakened, or degenerative. The IQS combines highly-sophisticated computer software with the Meridian Science of the East. With this technology, you and your practitioner can get a detailed assessment of the body’s state of health. Not only that, but the IQS also determines the most appropriate remedial steps for restoring the body to a state of health and energetic balance.

top

Why is it called an "Interactive Query System"?

The IQS is an advanced, computerized procedure used for questioning the body’s innate intelligence. It utilizes the body's internal diagnostic and healing abilities through the use of simple and non-invasive communication techniques. It's "interactive" because it involves both the patient and practitioner in the treatment process and relies on communication between both parties.  Whether you’re suffering from a serious ailment, a chronic health condition, or want to maintain your health – the IQS can help you.

What kind of practitioner uses an IQS?

The IQS is marketed throughout the world, primarily to healthcare practitioners. Chiropractors, medical doctors, osteopaths, naturopaths, homeopaths, as well as many others use the IQS. An IQS analyst can operate under the license of a professional healthcare practitioner.

How does the IQS compare to similar systems?

The "Interro", developed by Dr. Curtin and colleagues in the early 1980's, was the first device of its kind. The basic capabilities that were part of the Interro system are included in most of the products on the market today, many of which are clones of the Interro. Being one of the original inventors of this technology has allowed Dr. Curtin to build a system that is more compact, easier to use, and conforms more strictly to the basic theories of operation. Competing devices include the "Listen", "BEST", and "MSA" systems, all of which focus primarily on meridian balancing. The IQS is an Electro-Dermal Dialogue (EDD) device capable of performing meridian balancing as well as alternate solution techniques. The IQS is simple to use and easy to learn. It's history, speed in operation, and simplicity in design set it apart from all other devices on the market. Why use the IQS?

When you visit your health care practitioner, one of the most important things he or she does for you is provide a health evaluation. This can be complex, especially considering the myriad of conditions that can lead to illness: allergies, food sensitivities, improper diet, stress, yeast overgrowth, parasites, bacteria, viruses, and so on. Your practitioner has many precise tools and tests with which many aspects of your health can be determined. Most practitioners would agree, however, that time and expenses may limit the types of testing you receive. In addition, the standard array of tests may not reveal all of the important information your practitioner needs in order to help you. IQS testing is a procedure that uses advanced technology to evaluate your condition quickly and accurately, as well as suggest the ideal supportive therapy to help you get better fast. As you will discover, the IQS provides vital insights about the health of your body. It can help you and your practitioner find the right solution for many types of health problems and conditions.

Can the IQS help with arthritic conditions?

The IQS reveals more than we're usually accustomed to when treating arthritis. In about ten percent of the cases, we've found that patients suffering from arthritis are not properly digesting their foods and therefore not getting the needed nutrients to the joints. These patients need enzyme supplementation to help with the digestion process. In other cases, patients are not eating enough protein for the body to produce the fluids needed to lubricate the joints. In still other cases arthritis appears to be related to a parasitic infestation in the joints. In each case the IQS has proven to be both helpful and insightful.

top

Is it possible for an inexperienced user of the IQS to cause harm to a patient?

The skills needed to effectively use the IQS can be gained by most individuals in a reasonable amount of time. With practice we have found that a competent user will have readings that repeat to within plus or minus 3%, 95% of the time. This is far better than most of the other investigational tools at your disposal. This accuracy is further enhanced by the fact that one datum requires an average of 3 seconds to acquire. This allows you to make repeated and redundant measurements in order to confirm your findings at no risk and with minimal cost to your client. It is always possible to get poor outcomes if the wrong actions are taken. Doctors that use the IQS find that they are less likely to miss important information when they include the results from a comprehensive IQS session. Further, the IQS will aid in identifying low risk remedies that have a high probability of being effective for that particular patient. Nevertheless, even the OTC nutritional, herbal, and homeopathic remedies normally used as a first choice by IQS practitioners can produce toxic or allergic reactions. The doctor and the patient should use at least as much judgment as they normally would if they were using these remedies without the benefit of an IQS evaluation.
